The year 2002.

A lot of things happened back then. The Euro becomes the official currency of twelve of the European Union's Members, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother of the UK Dies. Former United States President Jimmy Carter is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

On the other side of the world, a 15 year old kid browses through a rock music magazine and discovers images shot by photographer Ross Halfin and immediately becomes inspired...

Dial up internet was still a new thing for most people back then. So with this new found inspiration, the kid jumps to the computer, dials up the internet in search for more of these images of his musical idols, shot by Halfin. This search eventually lead him to other photographers such as Jerry Uelsmann, Eugenio Recuenco; and photography blogs, forums, tutorials and ultimately Adobe's Photoshop. With a new found passion and some inspiration, the kid started experimenting with photography and Photoshop.

15 years later, The Image Engineer has been molded, shaped and filed down to present only the finest quality imagery available on the South African market today.
